Wonders of Wildlife (American National Fish and Wildlife Museum)
WOW's mission is to educate, inform, and entertain visitors concerning the value of fish and wildlife, to help them appreciate our heritage of hunting, and fishing and to motivate their personal involvement in the conservation of outdoor resources. Wonder of Wildlife believes that successful conservation begins with education. They provide many opportunities for families, schools and individuals to learn about conservation. A highlight of WOW's programs is a National Outdoor Recreation and Conservation School that introduces people to a variety of hands-on learning experiences in an outdoor setting structured for a wide range of ages, interests and abilities. It typically is run in five different locations around Missouri each year.
Their large museum is currently closed for major renovations. The new Wonders of Wildlife Museum will feature displays such as a rain forest exhibit, shark and ray touch tanks, catfish and turtle pools, a living coral tank, an aviary, and a nocturnal swamp.
