World Bird Sanctuary

The World Bird Sanctuary is located on 305 acres of Missouri hardwood forest in west St. Louis County. The Sanctuary features free seasonal shows, nature trails, educational programs and picnic pavilions. They have open air displays of live bald eagles, owls, hawks, falcons, vultures, parrots, reptiles and more! Their mission is to preserve the earth's biological diversity and to secure the future of threatened bird species in their natural environments. They work to fulfill this mission through education, propagation, field studies and rehabilitation.
They treat more than 300 patients in the Wildlife Hospital each year, and give birds a "second chance to fly." Their program to assist distressed raptors is run by volunteer veterinarians and an experienced rehabilitation staff. They release as many raptors as possible back into the wild to live out their natural lives.
The Sanctuary is open daily from 8am - 5pm, and closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Entry and parking are free.
